Not Alone

I can’t take this anymore
I refuse to close my eyes
Don’t want to hide behind a door
Not while this world screams out its fears

It batters me with its pain
The agony it hides, like me
This terrible loneliness
This void in my heart, sucks out my very being

Even then I know
Even in this I see
I am NOT ALONE
There are so many of you out there like me

You see the uncertainty in my eyes
When I talk to you
I fear you will be lost in this storm
And I know it scares you too
Don’t want to lose sight of you
I want to hold you troubled soul, just to console
But what can I do? I’m just as screwed up as you!

Even then I know
Even in this I see
I am NOT ALONE
There are so many of you out there like me

Though I’m supposed to know
The answer to what everyone’s looking for
The knowledge still ain’t real to me
It leaves me wanting so much more

So today I’m tearing outta my cocoon
I’m stepping outta my comfort zone
Throwing out my masks
Setting fire to my heart
Embracing our hurt
Cleaning away my dirt

Because pain tells me if I’m real
Pain reminds me my purpose
Will never again run from it
Because pain is all I want now
With anger to change what I can’t
Pain is all I see now
But relief is all want to give

Even then I know
Even in this I see
I am NOT ALONE
There are so many of you out there like me
